Site Manager 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Site Manager to join our client, a highly successful, large, and expanding steelwork fabrication / engineering business based nr Derby. The company takes on full construction projects (design and build) which are typically steel framed buildings, beam and stick, portal frames etc. to large Industrial & Commercial structures.

Key responsibilities and duties:

• Manage company site teams on a variety of projects throughout the country.
• Ensure site teams have the right experience, qualifications, and background for the project, with up to date tickets / cards.
• Ensure all site practice and operations are carried out to correct site procedures with all site safety, H&S practice etc. maintained to the full.
• Maintain site program, monitoring all trades and expectations throughout the project life cycle and run progress meetings with the teams.
• Record site progress and relay “as built” status for processing to appropriate person.
• Adjust on site labour if necessary to ensure program deadlines are met.
• Ensure accurate NCR and day work records are recorded and signed by the client representative.
• Liaise with all relevant company departments, Contracts, Workshop / deliveries etc. to include the QS, to establish a schedule of materials or any special items as an example.

Key Skills and Experience Required:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a Site Manager in a similar role and company as above.
• Solid experience as a Site Manger working with steelwork structures to include, timber frames, glulam’s etc.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience managing site personnel.
• Ability to hold and manage progress meetings.
• Experience in developing and maintaining the site program for labour, plant, delivery of materials etc. etc.
• Report writing capability.
• Knowledge of required site practices, excellent site safety awareness, understanding of H&S standards and policy’s.
• Ability to multi task and quickly respond to any site problems in all aspects of labour, plant, materials, deliveries etc.,
