Shift Team Leader

Further to a successful campaign of business growth, we are working closely with one of our injection moulding manufacturing partners to appoint two hands-on Shift Team Leader / Injection Moulding Setter Supervisor.

Job Role: The role of the Shift Team Leader will be to supervise operators & setters, carry out insert, tool, and colour changes effectively as well as to set, condition & optimise several injection machines & oversee robot program changes. For this role, you must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of setting injection moulding machines in a supervisory capacity and have a good understanding of modern manufacturing principles and health and safety standards..

Responsibilities:
• Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times
• Ensure that the quality of the production meets required targets
• Keeps areas of responsibility clean at all times
• Ensures machinery runs at minimum budgeted level of 90 %
• Ensures scrap level does not exceed 2 %
• Carries out Insert, Tool, and colour changes effectively
• Adheres to the production plan
• Allocates materials to lines and advises planning / purchasing of shortfalls
• Carries out basic maintenance tasks
• Supervises operators / packers
• Completes all shift production documentation
• Ensures safe working practices are being adhered too
• Ensures the production plan is being followed
• Ensures quality standards are being maintained
• Maintains budgeted cycle times
• Maintains housekeeping / 5S standards
• Effective supervision / training of operators / packers

Skill Requirements:
• Extensive working knowledge of the plastic injection Moulding process and associated machinery / plant
• Supervisory experience and the ability to lead and motivate others
• Ability to lead and promote Health and safety within the team
• Knowledge of Quality control and food hygiene standards
• Ability to set up an injection moulding machine and associated plant
• Ability to trouble shoot process and machinery issues
• Ability to carry out basic maintenance tasks
