Introduction:
Our client is a leading supplier of facility services (hard and soft) to the Ministry of Defence and they now have a requirement for a Service Delivery Area Manager based in or around Fulwood / Dale. The successful candidate will lead the Service Delivery Area (SDA) team to meet all core services contract outputs and provide a senior interface for Senior Infrastructure Managers and Heads of Establishments (HoEs).

The successful Service Delivery Area Manager will ensure the effective management and timely execution of all work relating to the delivery of our client’s services and specified projects within the relevant primary and secondary sites located in the Lancashire and Chester areas. These will include building, civil and all associated mechanical and electrical (M&E) functions. You will have a demonstrable management background in construction or facilities.

Candidates meeting the criteria below who have previously served in the Armed Forces (Royal Navy, British Army or Royal Air Force) and those with previously experience working on a Ministry of Defence (MoD) site could be of particular interest.

Responsibilities:
– Understand the main customer requirements for all sites across the SDA.
– Act as the Client’s focal point for all HoE’s and Senior Representatives within their SDA.
– Provide the interface and maintain successful relationships with end user representatives in respect of the level and quality of service provided in the SDA.
– Forge relationships with HoE’s and Senior Representatives across the SDA.
– Deliver health and safety, sustainability, quality and statutory best practice across the SDA.
– Meet time, cost and quality requirements for all injected works.
– Adhere to contract processes and procedures.
– Oversee and ensure the preparation, approval and maintenance of every IEMPS, ESTS, FASP, and ESR across the SDA.
– Report on contract performance indicators across the SDA.
– Manage the performance and interface with the Help Desk across the SDA.
– Attract, develop and retain sufficient numbers of suitably qualified and experienced skilled persons to fulfil the service delivery.
– Create a high performing Area Team that consists of staff who are responsible and accountable for their actions.
– Management of staff outlined within current business organisational structure (including those Authorised Persons appointed within the Service Delivery Area).

Applicant Requirements:
Essential:
– Qualified to HND level or equivalent in a related field.
– Health & Safety awareness, ideally identified by IOSH or equivalent qualification.
– Excellent leadership and management skills.
– Significant experience in a management position within Construction or the Facilities Management environment.
– Ability to delegate, prioritise and manage time effectively.
– Good working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and environmental standards.
– Proactive performance management of employees and supply chain.
– Demonstrable background in budget control.
– Strong communicator with the ability to interface with customer at all levels.
– IT Literate.
– Extensive understanding of risk management
– Requirement to travel between sites within geographical area of responsibility.
– Full driving licence.
Desirable:
– Working knowledge of CDM regulations.
– Experience of operating in an MOD environment.
– Adept with continuous improvement tools and techniques.
– Experience of the requirements of the Asbestos at Work Act, DDA, and Energy Performance etc.
