Salary: £31,200 – £38,400 per year

Our Client is one of the UK’s leading building sustainability & compliance providers and they are looking to expand their ever growing team. Working within the non-domestic team, you will undertake energy assessments across a number of building sectors utilising IES software to determine compliance with Building Regulations Part L, BB101 and regional planning policy etc.

Using your prior knowledge of energy assessment and building services to provide clear, effective and robust consultancy to our clients.

You will be required to undertake occasional audits of existing buildings to ascertain the potential for energy improvement measures. This will enable to you calculate the environmental and financial impact of such measures utilising thermal modelling approaches, industry benchmarks and product research.

Key Tasks:

• Responsible for the execution and delivery of detailed thermal and daylight assessments using IES software.
• Undertake building energy inspections for both compliance purposes and the identification of energy improvement potential.
• Provide advice to clients on building envelope design, natural ventilation, material selection, services and LZCs.
• Undertake renewable feasibility assessments in accordance with regional planning policies.
• Produce detailed technical reports.
• Provide technical support to BREEAM Assessors.
• Oversee the delivery and support of graduate team members.
• Any other related duties as required by the departmental Manager.

Key skills/experience:

• Degree in Mechanical/Building Services Engineering or a similar, related discipline with 5+ years relevant industry experience.
• Qualified level 4 and 5 energy assessor using IES software with 2+ years working experience.
• Detailed working knowledge of the current Building Regulations Part L.
• Understanding of forthcoming revisions to the Building Regulations Part L, Government commitments to Zero Carbon and other related policies.
• Experience in the production of renewable feasibility assessments and planning energy statements.
• Excellent IT skills, including all Microsoft Office.
• Clear and confident communication, both verbal and written.
• Excellent communication skills: ability to understand and explain complex issues over the phone or via email.
• AutoCAD experience.

Desirable:

• CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant.
• Experience of undertaking thermal bridging assessments.
• BREEAM qualified and experience in delivering your own assessments.
• CEEQUAL Assessor qualification.
• Experience of a BIM working environment and Autodesk Revit.
