Salary: £48,000 – £60,000 per year

The client base is expanding both domestically and internationally and require an ambitious individual to join the Engineering Design Team. Ideally you have 3+ years of similar experience although they will consider exceptional candidates with less experience.

The Role/ Person
As part of the Technical Design group based in the Hertfordshire studio location, you will partner with a cross functional team to ensure displays and POP concepts are delivered on-budget, factory ready, and built to specifications. You will provide essential knowledge for manufacturing materials, processes, and cost to transform visualized concepts into manufacturing-ready drawings.
Your responsibilities:
• Present and discuss solutions at client meetings.
• Check and approve prototypes/first articles
• Sketch draft solutions to solve assembly/manufacturing problems
• Produce prototype and manufacturing drawings from approved concepts
• Partner with the production department to ensure the right solutions to the supply chain
• Visit factories to verify display construction, specifications, and quality
• Ensure project documentation (parts lists, QC guidelines, technical specifications, assembly diagrams) align with agreed company processes
• Produce rendered images from Solidworks.
Your attributes:
• At least 3 years POP design industry experience.
• Comfortable to lead meetings with clients.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience working with plastic sheet fabrication, vacuum forming, injection molding, extrusions, metal, sheet metal, wire forming, steel tube and finishing, wood, and millwork
• Proficient with SolidWorks 2013 (drawings and renders), and Adobe CS (Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Moderate travel when necessary – local and overseas.
• Clean driving license essential.
