Senior Supervising Social Worker (Fostering)

Up to £52,383.6 (including London Weighting (if living in London Borough) out of hours, placement and homeworking payment)

Home-based to cover Surrey, Sussex, Kent and South London

I am looking for an experienced Senior Supervising Social Worker to join a fabulous not-for-profit fostering charity. The whole company works from home so you will be home-based, but you will be working as part of a team that visits families in Surrey, Sussex, Kent and South London and the surrounding areas.

You role will be to recruit, assess, train and support a diverse range of foster carers and placements. Main duties for this role will include:

* Providing regular support via telephone and supervisory visits to foster carers, including annual unannounced visits

* Supporting the management of complex cases

* Undertaking Form F assessments of potential foster carers and presenting to panel

* Carrying out annual foster carer reviews

* Ensuring complaints information is available to the child in placement and carers

* Facilitating monthly support groups to carers

* Participating in the recruitment of potential carers and identifying the training needs of foster families

* Delivering training as required

For this fantastic post you must have:

* DipSW, CSS, CQSW (or equivalent) and Social Work England Registration

* Post qualifying experience which should be in family placement work or post qualifying experience in other child care settings

* A proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality and promoting their positive development

* Experience of group work and/or delivery of training

* Assessment of Foster Carers, using BAAF Competency Based Form F

* Experience of supervising students

* The ability to participate in the out of hours service

* The willingness to be flexible regarding working hours including evening and weekend working

* The ability to travel extensively within the company area along with use of a car that is also suitable for transporting children
