Senior Software Engineer – Remote

Salary: £66,000 – £90,000 per year

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails) to join an ambitious software company who are working to improve the efficiency of our beloved NHS through intuitive scheduling software. As an experienced Software Engineer who still loves to code, you will play a pivotal role in taking this company to the next level by helping them engineer quality, robust and usable code.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you would be joining at a key point in their growth, when they are on the verge of significant financial investment and expansion. As a Senior Software Engineer you will: –

* Write robust, testable, maintainable code

* Maintain and support all existing internal systems

* Design excellent technical solutions to client requirements

* Designing, implementing and testing new features

* Carrying out bug fixing, code optimisation, documenting code and REST API integration

* Introducing responsive and cross-browser UI design to improve user experience

* Contributing to discussions about product design and feature implementation

Their software comprises a core Ruby on Rails application with heavy use of JavaScript and jQuery, along with a separately supported mobile application.

This is a remote first role, but they do require a UK based candidate who would pass background screening and is able to visit NHS sites when required. The small development team is supported by a product team. This new role will play a key part in our ambitious product roadmap with opportunities to work across the front end, back end, and scheduling algorithms.

As Senior Software Engineer you will need;

Essential:

* 4 Years + experience programming in a commercial environment

* Comfortable working with a complex application

* Worked with a mainstream language such as Ruby, Python, PHP, C#, or Java

Desirable:

* Experienced in TDD

* Knowledge of the Healthcare Industry

* Worked with a remote team previously.

* Experience with FHIR/HL7 APIs
