My client are a Tier 1 Main Contractor who have at least over 5 years of work in Brighton and the surrounding areas. They work within Commercial, Residential, Hotels on the majority of projects but have a solid history of working in most disciplines within Main Contracting. Generally their projects range from £10 – £50 million. Even though they have only been established for just over 15 years they have a turnover approaching £500 million and are looking to grow.
They have a solid history of developing their own staff and always look internally to promote from within but due to their continued growth they are having to recruit externally for this role. If you’re a hungry Site Manager who is looking to be a Project Manager running your own projects within the next 2 years then this is a great company for you.
A Senior Site Manager for this main contractor is the No2 on site, reporting into the Project Manager. Generally this Senior Site Manager is the eyes and ears on site, being the main go to person for all of the sub-contractors and generally running the day to day activities on site.
Other duties include:
* Daily reports and updates to the Project Manager
* Overseeing all health and safety on site
* Managing and pushing the sub-contractors on site
* Promoting the company internally and externally and living the companies ethos
* Being a senior person on site and helping train and develop the junior staff on site
What does the ideal candidate look like?
– Must have main contracting or major developer experience
– UK experience within the last 5 years
– SMSTS and CSCS
– A stable work history
– Able to provide references
