Senior Product Support Engineer
Our client requires a Senior Product Support Engineer to maintain the electronic hardware and software systems within established products.

Main duties & responsibilities:
• Ensure that any hardware or software changes are verified and/or validated to meet the requirements for product performance, regulatory compliance, risk management, design for manufacture and reliability
• Investigate customer complaints and field issues, identifying root-cause and recommending corrective and preventative measures
• Support and occasionally lead the development of new products or projects.
• Take a proactive role in preventing quality issues by championing design for reliability, identifying failure trends, specifying test protocols and performing life testing where appropriate
• Support Purchasing in resolving issues relating to subcontract manufacture, supplier test equipment and component obsolescence
• Support and mentor junior members of the team

Knowledge & skills required
• 1Degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or associated subject with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Embedded software development experience, familiar with using Assembler and/or C/C++. Also experience of using an ERP system, particularly for change control and product configuration would be an advantage
• Experience of maintaining electronic & software systems within complex electromechanical products, with the ability to read schematics and fault-find down to component level
• Excellent team working skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both written and verbally. Must have the confidence to chair technical meetings and present to an audience
• Experience of working within a highly regulated industry. Experience in a medical equipment and/or manufacturing environment would be an advantage
• The ability to multi-task and work flexibly to meet changing priorities whilst at the same meeting agreed timescales
