Senior Procurement Officer

Salary: £22.22 – £24.5 per hour

The role:

Facilitate and manage procurement processes, tendering, negotiation, contract award and on-going contract management.
Co-ordinate and manage agreements to ensure that service levels and price competitiveness is maintained or enhanced.
Lead and support all activities pre and post procurement project including market engagement and feedback.
Support the Senior Procurement Manager as required in large complex procurement activity.

Participates in cross-functional project teams to deliver high value/risk complex procurement projects.
Develops and maintains relationships with internal customers to ensure procurement frameworks are managed to a high standard.
Uses procurement management information to identify need for new frameworks and opportunities for alternative approaches.Our ideal candidate will have:

Proven experience of successfully managing procurement projects and programmes of work.
An understanding of construction procurement, design of buildings. Supported by an appreciation of architecture, engineering, building economics, the construction industry and the design and construction process.
Knowledge of current issues and trends within Local Government and the wider public sector including those related to the Governments’ construction strategy and how, when applied, enables a client to generate efficiencies and process improvements.
Commercial judgement supported by business skills in financial control on contracts and agreements.
Well-developed inter personnel skills to enable the post holder to exercise tact, diplomacy and reconcile differences within Customer organisations.
Ability to be innovative and creative in the development of procurement processes and procedures with excellent use of ICT and e-tendering software
Degree level or equivalent relevant experience in a related disciplineIn return we can offer you:
