Senior Payments Officer

Salary: £24.07 per hour

Senior Payments Officer role with Lambeth Council

£24.07 per hour PAYE / £24.99 per hour umbrella PAYE

Main purpose of post:

• To support the Payments Team Manager to develop payments practice and promote the highest standard of payments service to social workers, foster carers, young people and providers. To contribute to timely responses and resolution of complaints relating to payment issues.

• To deliver and role model high quality payments practice in children’s social care in accordance with the council’s payments policy system requirements (purchase orders, supplier set-up etc)

• To utilise performance information with the Payments Team Manager to identify areas for, and the delivery of, improvement

• To undertake the most complex payments work in particular working effectively with colleagues in the Council’s Corporate and Finance Services to secure swift resolutions.

• To coach, mentor support and/or supervise less experienced members of the team

• To promote the use of direct payments and support Children’s Social Care staff to access these services on behalf of their service users.

Main requirements are for the Senior Payment Officer post are:

* Knowledge and experience of Oracle system and payments.

* Knowledge and experienced of Mosaic Finance systems

* Knowledge and experience of Excel

* Ability to Collaborate with Others

* Good verbal and written Communication skills

* Experience and ability to manage staff.
