Senior Marine Engineer

Salary: £54,000 – £60,000 per year

We are pleased to be working with a hugely successful and growing Civil, Structural & Marine consultancy based in the south east of England. They have asked us to help them find a Chartered / Near Chartered Senior Marine Engineer to join them on a full time, permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in civils, marine, bridges or highways and will work on a varied project portfolio which extends across the residential, commercial, public, industrial and marine sectors.

Responsibilities:

• Leading in development of fee proposals
• Managing design projects from inception through to completion
• Managing projects to keep within timescale, budget constraints and to meet quality expectations
• Liaising with Directors and clients on project issues
• Preparing monthly reports and fee forecasts
• Mentoring junior engineers and graduates
• Ensuring project related documentation is compliant to Business Management systems, processes, and procedures
• Lead inspection.

Requirements:

• A relevant degree,
• A Chartered or near Chartered engineer,
• A minimum of years’ experience,
• Strong attention to detail,
• High level of personal efficiency, time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands,
• Structural design experience and knowledge of relevant design standards,
• Ability to write quality reports
• Ability to lead/coordinate delivery of design drawings to clients
• Experience in, or willingness to take on, team leadership and mentoring junior engineers
• Good all-round technical design expertise using British, European and International standards.
