Salary: £42,000 – £54,000 per year

The Company

Able Bridge Recruitment have teamed up with an independent logistics business on the outskirts of Edinburgh to assist them in the hiring of a senior inhouse recruiter within the operational team.

The role will sit within HR and will report directly to the managing director on a day to day basis. The organisation have a footprint in several major Scottish cities and have forecast further growth into England in the near future.

The business was incorporated almost 10 years ago and has grown to become one of the biggest players in their sector over this period. All areas of the business have grown in both staffing numbers and financial turnover, and now they have created the new role.

The Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to work with the managing director of the business as well as senior heads of transport in understanding current and future needs of the business from an operational perspective (in the main professional driver recruitment). You will be a senior hire within the business and you will be embedding new processes in the talent attraction strategy, creation of an in-house data base of candidates as well as ensuring all legal and corporate compliance checks are completed.

On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;

Building strong, long lasting relationships with professional drivers to ensure that driver requirements can be filled.

Work with the widder HR team in ensuring right to work paperwork is appropriately gathered and recorded. Also ensuring that HR/Recruitment team have copies of relevant licenses and references.

Build and maintain a network of talent through an in-house CRM system to ensure relationships are maintained and there is critical understanding of who is available when and where.

Review current recruitment spend and analysis return on investment to ensure money is spent in the most appropriate talent attraction platforms.

Attend industry events and network internally to deliver a first class service to both candidates and internal stakeholders.

The Requirements

We require a technically strong recruiter who has ideally worked on an industrial or driver related desk (recently). This role is a newly created post and as such the candidate will need to show exceptional resilience and proactive competencies as there will be a lot to do within the role, but it will be highly rewarding and highly autonomous. You will be personally accountable and highly rewarded for implementing and delivering core processes to enable high volumes of driver placements. We would suspect that the successful applicant would come from a recruitment consultancy/agency background, however we are not adverse to an individual who is currently working in an RPO or inhouse capacity in a similar role.
