As an experienced Environmental Protection and Sustainability Consultant you will provide technical leadership to the existing Environmental Protection and Sustainability capability team and to support project delivery.
The ideal candidate must be an enthusiastic and vibrant individual, conversant with the application of Environmental Protection and Sustainability practices and an understanding of how these practices can be applied to the defence sector. You will provide ongoing support to help customers meet their obligations for legislative and regulatory compliance, and to improve the environmental performance of their assets.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Leadership of the Environmental Protection and Sustainability capability team.
* Contribution to our client’s Global Resilience and Sustainability initiatives.
* Contribution to business development opportunities and in marketing our client’s unique capability to both new and existing customers across their multiple domains.
* Technical oversight of business-winning proposals and contracted deliverables to ensure accurate and sound coverage of Environmental Protection and Sustainability practices.
* Application of the UK MOD’s Project Orientated Environmental Management System (POEMS).
* Application of the principles of ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems and provision of technical oversight of company ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System.
* Engagement with senior Environmental Protection and Sustainability stakeholders, both internal and external MOD and defence sector suppliers.
* Line management to some of the Environmental Protection and Sustainability capability team members.
Contracted Location:
As a Consultant you will have a contracted location in one of our client’s offices (Bath, Fareham, Plymouth or Weymouth) and you will be required to work on client sites, as required. Under the UK Government’s current COVID-19 guidelines, however, all employees are working from home unless they are required to work in our clients Office and/or customer site by exception.
Key Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree (or equivalent) from a recognised institution or university, preferably in an environmental discipline, or an engineering or safety discipline, or IEMA Diploma in Sustainable Business Practice.
* Membership of an appropriate professional body, such as IEMA, and be proactive in managing their own professional CPD.
* Experience in the application of POEMS and ISO14001.
Benefits:
* Fantastic opportunity for personal and professional development through our client’s most exceptional internal and external training and mentoring programmes.
* Equal opportunities employer who is committed to eliminating discrimination and encouraging diversity amongst its workforce.
* Generous pension scheme and access to healthcare.
* Flexible working which includes family friendly policies designed to be inclusive to all employees.
