Senior Developer / Leeds / Spring / Hibernate / Hadoop / £50k

Corecom Consulting are currently working with one of the most successful and expanding Financial Services companies in West Yorkshire. They are currently seeking a Senior Developer who will be responsible for software development, solution design, support and maintenance activities of critical business applications.

As Senior Developer you will also hold an important role in the architecture and design discussions and code reviews, and need to have a hand in leading a new team in the Big Data / Hadoop function.

Responsibilities

Work closely with stakeholders and understand requirements
Be responsible for the design, coding, testing and installation of applications
Collaborate with partners and IT delivery teams
Prepare system and client-facing documents
Prepare research and present ideas for system improvements and make contributions towards plans for continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience:

Hands-on development experience in a range of languages (ie. Java/J2EE, Groovy, Perl, Scala, Python etc.)
Experience of frameworks, libraries and tools such as Spring, JAXB, Hibernate, JUnit, Apache projects, GlassFish, WebSphere, Grails
XML Standards
Strong experience working with Hadoop and Big Data tools.
Oracle, SQL, ETL or NoSQL Databases
Continuous Integration and Build Tools.
Experience of Management / Leading teams / Innovation / Solution design.

The ideal Senior Developer will have solid experience with Agile or TDD development environments, and ideally have experience coding over a range of languages throughout their career.

Having in-depth experience working on projects with Big Data and Hadoop is essential.

The successful Senior Developer can expect a salary of up to £60,000 plus bonus and other benefits.
