School Caretaker / Handyman

My client, a leading school within the perfoming arts, are currenty looking for a School Caretaker/ Handyman to assist with maintaining the building to their high standards.

They are looking for someone who has strong maintenance knowledge and skills along with the ability to maintain a corporate attitude.

Duties:

* Ensuring high standards with regards to the appearance of the site at all times
* Movement of furniture and equipment around the school as required
* Preparing the hall and other rooms for various functions including setting out furniture.
* General porterage, handling deliveries and their distribution
* Replacement of light bulbs and similar fittings.
* Undertake all work in accordance with health and safety legislation and the School’s procedures
* Participate in health and safety testing and checks as required
* Maintenance of site security including locking and unlocking the various internal and external buildings
* Painting and decorating across the site (strong skills required)

The ideal candidate:

* High standards and attention to detail – the ability to achieve and maintain a consistently high standard of work
* The ability to work as part of a team, communicate with staff at all levels and to establish good working relationships
* Good communication skills; the ability to deal with staff visitors and parents in a friendly manner and with tact and diplomacy when required

This position has the following shift pattern: Mon – Fri 6.30am – 2.30pm or 7am – 3pm or 1pm – 9.30pm so please only apply if you are able to work to this.
