Safehouse Team Leader

BRC Social Housing are seeking an experienced Safehouse Team Leader for this full time 6 month post based in Bristol. The hourly rate is dependent on experience

The main function of the safe house team leader is to provide line management and supervision to staff and co-ordinate the referrals and intakes on a daily basis to ensure a responsive and needs-led service.

The main responsibilities of the Safehouse Team Leader will be:

– Responsible for conducting one to one appraisals with staff and monitoring performance
– Direct the team with regards to regular contact with referral agencies, undertaking follow up work and then authorising each referral outcome decision
– Monitor support plans, referrals and outcomes and hold responsibility for risk assessments
– Responsible for the direct line management of eight staff
– Ensure regular reviews of support plans and ensured any referrals to other agencies were followed up
– To ensure that all move-ins are carried out effectively, that sign-ups are completed and paperwork sent off, and that service users are welcomed and introduced to the house
– To coordinate house meetings/house activities on a monthly basis in each house, ensuring that minutes are taken and distributed to all residents and that actions are followed up
– Ensure that housing benefits and self-payments are collected regularly and that arrears are minimised
– Liaise directly with Housing Benefits regarding move-ins and move-outs each week
– Respond to complaints from service users and members of the public in a sensitive manner and report to senior managers

As a safehouse team leader you will need:

– Knowledge and understanding of the needs and issues for women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.
– Relevant experience in a supported housing project or similar.
– You must have an enhanced DBS check under 12 months and access to a car
