Salary: £26,000 per year

Restaurant & Bar Supervisor

The Restaurant & Bar Supervisor supports the Restaurant & Bar Manager in all aspects of the day to day running operations of all Lake Vyrnwy Hotel food & beverage areas, Tower Bar & Restaurant, Tavern and all conference and banqueting function rooms.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide effective and efficient supervision and delivery of all restaurant and function activities within the LVH operation.
  • To promote a customer focused culture within LVH, leading by example.
  • Assist in the induction, training and development of General Assistants.
  • Strive for continuous improvement, working with management to develop Standard Operational Procedures within the Restaurant/Functions departments.
  • Efficient labour planning, including the creation of weekly rotas, ensuring all business requirements are covered and cost of labour is controlled within company parameters.
  • Manage team time and attendance, ensuring all team members clock in and clock out.
  • Ensure the effective management, motivation, training and development of all team members employed in the restaurant and bar teams.
  • Promote a safe, healthy and environmentally secure environment.
  • Deputise in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
  • Ensure that standards are maintained within the restaurant/functions at all times
  • Work with the Wedding and Events Co-ordinator to ensure that all events are set up in advance fully and in accordance with the function sheets. to the customers specification as quickly and efficiently as possible and in advance of the event. Ensure team is briefed on the requirements for each event.
  • Ensure that all wastage is recorded correctly and fully, to include breakages of glassware/crockery.
  • Ensure that all function rooms are cleared down after event and ensure that all store areas are kept tidy.
  • Support the company with the implementation of new and existing company policies as outlined in the staff handbook and subsequent amendments

Experience & Attributes

  • Previous experience of working in a fast-paced, busy environment in a similar role, with excellent operational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, excellent communication, organisational skills and a commitment to delivering a high standard of customer care.
  • Ability and experience in managing conflict and crisis, using prompt decision making skills, and patience to deal with a variety of situations.
  • Multitasker, the role requires management for both front and back of house operations so ability to liaise with a variety of roles is imperative.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
  • To lead by example consistently providing exceptional standards of service, adhering to food and beverage standards.
  • Strong people skills enabling effective, positive relationships externally and internally to be created and maintained.
  • Ability to motivate staff to consistently perform at their best.
