Residential Care Worker

Support Worker – Shrewsbury
Salary Average 15,000 – 18,000 per annum
Full time permanent contracts available

Day to day Residential Care Worker duties will include the following;

* To provide primary care and a nurturing, (therapeutic) environment in line with the policy and statutory requirements.

* To sleep in as part of the rota pattern of the home.

* To be a positive role model, to include high standards of personal presentation, for the child and encourage the child to develop meaningful relationships and attachments.

* To work alongside the child and other residential support workers to help the child develop a true sense of identity and feel of self-worth.

* To be sensitive to the needs of individual child, taking account of race, culture, language and religion as set out in the policy, statute and within their Individual Treatment Plan.

* To talk and listen to the child, to observe their behaviour, and record significant features.

* To assist other residential support workers in preparation for reviews, meetings and attend when required.

* This role can be physically demanding, therefore we ask that our residential support workers should be able to demonstrate a good level of fitness and be in general good health.
