Role

To professionally and efficiently, source, screen, and hire permanent qualified LGV Drivers in line with business needs.

Main responsibilities

Develop and execute creative recruitment interventions to attract high-quality Drivers, and on occasion, Workshop and Washbay colleagues.
Maintain a talent pipeline of qualified drivers by sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates.
Conduct legal right to work checks and background screenings for all potential hires.
Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and preferred skillsets.
Develop and maintain relationships with Training team and support the successful transition from offer to induction.
Stay up to date on industry trends and changes to ensure the company delivers a dynamic and successful LGV Driver recruitment solution.
Attend career fairs and other events to promote the company and its driver opportunities.
Manage the company’s social media presence related to driver recruitment.
Write and place job ads in various online and print publications.
Keep accurate records of all candidate interactions throughout the recruiting process.
Prepare regular reports on recruiting metrics and progress.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

2-5 years’ experience in recruiting, preferably within the trucking/transportation industry but will consider other similar industry experience.
Proven ability to source and screen candidates using a variety of methods, including social media, job boards, and networking.
Excellent Written and Verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with a team to meet strict deadlines.
Experience developing an applicant tracking system or similar database application.
Evidence of working within a Transport Operation sourcing permanent drivers.
