Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £360 – £408 per day

Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering – Yorkshire – Freelance (Outside IR35)

Our client is a multidisciplinary Principle Civil Engineering contractor who are looking to hire a Quantity Surveyor to work within their Highways Division across projects in Area 12 (Yorkshire), delivered on behalf of National Highways.

Work will be ongoing as part of a 6 year framework agreement.

To be considered – ideally, you will have prior experience of contracts delivered for National Highways / Highways England.

Contractor in question is happy to consider either Freelance (Outside IR35 / CIS) or Permanent candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of Subcontractor accounts
• Establish a good working relationship with the client’s team and secure income and value
• Set up necessary systems with defined roles and responsibilities to efficiently file and retrieve information
• Understand, manage, forecast and communicate project costs
• Prepare monthly CVR and forecast reports.
• Provide explanation for changes in forecast

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Hold relevant qualifications (BSc Civil Engineering / BSc Quantity Surveying)
• Competent in core skills – measurements, costs, recognising change, budgeting, forecasting and reconciliations
• Experience working on major Civil Engineering projects
• Able to work on own initiative within a strong commercial team
• Excellent communicator
