Job Title- Quantity Surveyor
Location- South West, Somerset

Contract- Permanent
Salary- £38,400 – £45,600+ Package

Our client is looking to take on an experienced quantity surveyor to join their commercial team on a new awarded framework contract. Our client is a large civil engineering main contractor providing their services throughout the South West. They are currently very active in civil engineering ground work schemes for new and existing residential and commercial sites.

My client is looking to take on a Quantity surveyor on a permanent basis to join the current successful commercial team as the company are looking to expand. You will be working on projects ranging in value from £2m – £10m.

Reporting to the Lead Quantity Surveyor on site, the Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for assisting the with all commercial and contractual matters on the site allocated to them and should be able to effectively manage an assistant surveyor to successfully deliver that project.

– Analysis of construction estimates, order book and authorised costs.
– Preparing tenders and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
– Commercial activities for all schemes / projects.
– Mentor and develop the surveyors within the specific project team.
– Lead and manage the procurement process to maximise profit and ensure subcontract orders are placed on time and in accordance with the company policy.

Qualifications – A degree or similar technical qualification within civil engineering is preferred along with a good technical background in civils, as well as good commercial and contractual knowledge.
