Quantity Surveyor with a good track record in design & build projects is need to join a well-established main contractor based in Dartford. The company currently with a turnover in excess of £200million, the Quantity Surveyor will be offered the chance to work on high profile projects across London up to the value of £25million.

The Company

The Quantity Surveyor will be joining one the UK’s leading Main Contractors which has helped to shape the world around. The building division that the Quantity Surveyor will be working for cover works across health, education and commercial markets, with a well-balanced spread of both public and private sector clients.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects. the main focus is to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, whilst achieving the required standards and quality.

* Analyse tenders upon return to ensure compliant bids are received
* Prepare detailed breakdown of build cost included within land acquisition pack
* Prepare tender authority sheet including recommendation to head of commercial for placing sub-contract order.
* For new contractors, ensure health and safety contractor competency questionnaires are issued; analyse and action returned questionnaires.
* Carry out monthly progress checklist on site for all sites
* Input progress on valuation system
* Carry out cost and value reconciliation on all items in VBR and agree final VBR with head of commercial / chief surveyor

The Person

* Experience within Design and Build projects; as well as sound knowledge of JCT and NEC conditions of contract

* You will be degree qualified and member of the RICS or IOB (or moving towards a professional membership).
