Salary: £54,000 – £60,000Negotiable based on experience.
An ambitious manufacturing engineering organisation located in Horsham, West Sussex have the opportunity to hire a Quality Manager.
We specialise in providing engineering services to our customers in various sectors within the manufacturing industry.
The company’s core competencies are new product introduction, precision engineered parts, sheet metal/fabrication, mechanical and electrical assembly.
The competencies are supported by robust production and project management processes.
This is a progressive role, and the job holder will be supported with career progression, internal and external training will be provided.
We are looking for a dynamic Quality Manager that can adapt to changing priorities within the business and will lead by example. We will consider Quality Engineers that have career aspirations to progress into a Quality Management role.
The successful candidate will be able to support the management team in taking the business to another level in performance, by working closely with other managers and staff.
Ideally, we would like to hire an individual that has a good understanding of quality control and quality management processes and experience with ISO9001. You must have experience working with engineering drawings, using measuring equipment and be willing to learn the programming and operating of a Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
The ideal candidate will have gained experience in conducting internal audits (processes) external audits (suppliers), and in-depth knowledge of managing and maintaining a quality management system.
Proficiency with MS Office tools, such as Word and Excel at an intermediate/advanced level will be required. This role will be strongly supported by members of the management team from: Sales, Production, Project Management, Engineering, Sheet Metal/Fabrication, Quality, Finance and HR.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Exceptional communication, planning and organisational skills
- Engineering qualification and background
- Internal & external auditing
- Management of a QMS
- CMM experience
- Analytical thinking skills
- ISO9001 experience
- Over 5 years’ experience in quality control
Intermediate/Advanced MS office skills (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Project/Visio)
Change management experience/process mapping/5S/TPM and factory transformation
