Our client is a well established upholstery manufacturing business. Due to expansion, they are now looking for a Wood Mill Manager to join their team.

As the Wood Mill Manager, you will be tasked with the planning and monitoring of personnel, machinery and materials within our client’s wood mill, ensuring that weekly output plans and quality levels are met.

Initially overseeing a team of eight to ten people, you will motivate them to perform to the best of their ability and make sure they adhere to safe working practices. You’ll achieve this by completing daily health and safety checks and taking remedial action with any issues you discover.

Striving to make operations as efficient as possible, you’ll ensure that housekeeping levels are maintained and suggest ideas for further improvements to the Production Director.

You’ll attend managerial meetings to maintain high levels of communication throughout all departments. Additionally, you will endeavour to keep your skill-set up-to-date by attending training sessions and health and safety briefings.

To be considered for this role, you must have previous management or supervisory experience, ideally within a wood mill operation.

Analytical and organised, as the Wood Mill Manager, you must be a proactive leader with exceptional communication skills. You must also be self-motivated and resourceful with the ability to use your initiative to overcome obstacles.
