Salary: £43,200 – £51,600 per year

An exciting career opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading metals solutions businesses has recently become available in Leeds. The company specialize across a wide range of metal products & services that range from industrial application, elegant usage and a host of other sectors. They manufacture and distribute all varieties and are able to meet varied orders from small to large across all requirements. They are now looking for an experienced Quality Manager to join their established and successful team.

As Quality Manager you will proactively lead the development of the Company’s Quality Management activities in order to meet the requirements of new markets, products and services. Duties will include but are not limited to, indirectly supervising the quality related activities of sales and operational employees across the business whilst working in close collaboration with the Board, General Managers and Operations Managers across the UK. You will ensure compliance with policies and procedures and continually drive improvement activities related to quality matters. You will have regular contact with customers with regards to business development, quality issues and customer audits as well as new sector related suppliers.

In order to be successful in this role, you will require previous Quality Management experience within nuclear, oil and gas, automotive or aerospace sectors. You must be able to demonstrate strong leadership of new sector related customers and suppliers, have a track record of maintaining and developing quality systems and have experience working with a quality system such as ISO29001, TS16949, NSQ-100 or NADCAP. You will be a graduate in either business, technical, engineering or science and be able to apply formal quality improvement techniques such as 8D or 6 sigma. Along with this you will need a good knowledge of HSE, lead manufacturing techniques to eliminate waste and knowledge of SAP Quality Management modules. As a potential candidate you will also have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong IT skills and be able to consistently identify opportunities for improvement and lead these through to completion.
