Salary: £48,000 – £60,000 per year

My client are a leading supplier of added value engineering products for the automotive sector based in the heart of Fens.

With an enviable product range manufactured across four modern sites, they have experienced a huge period of growth through acquisition and an ambitious sales plan, seeing them enter new markets and develop relationships with some of the UK’s best known businesses.

As part of their growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer for their site in Wisbech. Reporting directly into the Group Operations Director, you will be responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of their operational processes and outputs. The quality engineer’s responsibilities include warranty, maintenance of quality management system, development of quality standards, inspection of incoming materials and determining root cause and corrective actions.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

– Carrying out internal audits
– Developing and implementing quality standards and systems
– Work with production to address ‘live’ quality issues
– Liaise with design to address build issues arising during production
– Work closely with the Site Quality Managers to implement new procedures/processes into the business
– Investigate and troubleshoot product or production issues
– Develop corrective actions, solutions and improvements
– Lead warranty investigations and improvements

Ideally you will be degree qualified in an engineering or related discipline, or have vocational work based qualifications relevant to the role. A background in the automotive or engineering sector is essential, and be able to demonstrate a wide ranging skill set in the use of project management processes, lean and modern manufacturing tools. Strong QA knowledge is obviously essential, with the successful candidate able to lead audits, develop processes and maintain (and enforce) a robust QMS.
