Quality Engineer

Salary: £51,600 – £52,800 per year

Our client is a Sunderland based manufacturing business (automotive sector) that is looking to recruit a Quality Engineer with Tier 1 experience on a permanent basis to support growth. Reporting to the UK Quality Manager and managing a team of Quality Technicians, the role will support the management operating system as defined within the operational business plans. The role provides flexible start and finish times working a 37.5 hour daytime week and the key responsibilities include:

• To liaise directly with all relevant customer(s) pertaining to current and future vehicle builds.
• To manage all relevant customer concerns.
• Provide key Quality/Technical reports.
• To support the launch function in complete AQP activities utilising the Group AQP system.
• To support the targets and milestones set for any specific AQP programme.
• To oversee the investigation of internal concerns.
• Manage and develop a team of Quality Technicians.
• To complete detailed Process Audits in accordance with TS16949.
• To assist in the development of the Business Operating System with the Quality Manager.
• To assist in the training of personnel in all aspects of business processes.
• Review data provided on customer(s) website(s).
• To oversee all supplier raised concerns and support supplier management process.
• To provide real time quality data to control Quality.
• To action all Warranty concerns.

Suitable applicants will hold as a minimum an HND or equivalent in Engineering or a Science based subject (or equivalent experience) and qualifications in Quality Engineering, together with at least 2 years experience of working in the quality function of a Tier 1 business.
