Salary: £54,000 – £60,000 per year

Purchasing / Procurement Manager

Based: Greater Manchester / Warrington

Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)

Our Client is a well-established, well respected company who supply a wide range of products to various markets including automotive, aerospace, defence and commercial sectors throughout Europe and the UK. Their success is based on the provision of solution-based service and their flexibility of response to customer needs, as well as through a large e-commerce presence.

An opportunity has now arisen for a Purchasing / Procurement Manager to join the business. In this role you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the company supply chain and working proactively to deliver cost efficiency without compromising commitment to quality.

The main elements in this role include overseeing all buying procedures, negotiating favourable terms, placing orders with suppliers, sourcing and negotiating competitive prices on materials. Responsibilities include:

* Managing a small team

* Identifying potential suppliers and new products

* Negotiating lead times, terms and prices

* Contributing to the development and improvement of processes and procedures

* Managing forecast levels of demand for products

* Ensuring accuracy in the recording of stock

* Stringent material control to assure company targets on spend, usage, scrap and inventory levels are met.

Skills and attributes required:-

* You will be experienced in a similar role, able to hit the ground running

* You will be able to actively contribute to enhancing company profits through achieving best value and recognise the art of rapport building with suppliers

* You will need to be methodical and calm and have the ability to work through issues in an efficient and effective manner

* You will be of the mind set to always seize opportunities to add value or delivery cost savings in line with company standards

* You will be computer literate with a good level of Excel and Word

* You will have an excellent telephone manner

* You will be a personable manager with excellent organisational and communication skills, flexibility and bags of common sense.

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4pm.
