Procurement Manager
V-Recruit are currently recruiting for a significantly experienced Procurement Manger to start work in the Rotherham area as soon as possible.
This is a permanent, full-time position for a large, nationwide industrial services provider.
This is a fast paced, and varied role with a key objective is to manage the Category Procurement team in line with departmental & business objectives to ensure an effective and efficient procurement service.
The primary focus of the role is to manage our clients overall supply chains compliance and vendor activity and drive continuous improvement through proactive value propositions and strategic vendor management.
Your duties and responsibilities would include:
- Design and deliver the category portfolio roadmap, aligning with the strategic plan for the department and wider business to drive revenue and growth opportunities
- Develop an understanding of the business, the markets it operates within and their clients, to understand and deliver expectations
- Overall management for the procurement category structure and segregation of the supply chain spend
- Managing overall direction and coordination of the category procurement function to ensure service delivery, maximise opportunities and drive continuous improvement
- Managing the category procurement team to ensure delivery of personal, departmental, and business objectives
- Working closely with the Operational Procurement Manager to help direct and deliver tenders, maximise commercial benefits and reduce spend leakage
- Build effective valueadded partnerships with new and existing vendors
- Ensure the ongoing commercial management of vendors, contract compliance, delivery to SLA’s and delivery of commercial opportunities.
- Investigate, coordinate, and resolve any nonconformance issues within the Supply Chain
- Maintain excellent relationships both internally and externally, with regular site and supplier visits
- Champion the procurement principles with business stakeholders, demonstrating excellent communication, planning and organising alongside skilled negotiations and decisive decisionmaking, to ensure consistent, appropriate engagement and expert application of the procurement process
- Staying up to date with industry/market trends and updating the business/your team accordingly
Job specifics
This is a permanent, full-time role
Salary negotiable, depending on experience, although around £48,000 – £50,400per annum
Hybrid work, with one day per week WFH is avaialble after initial training/induction period
Working hours are 8am-4pm/9am-5pm, Monday to Friday
The candidate
We are looking for applications from candidates who have extensive experience in Procurement with experience in developing and delivering Category Procurement strategy, as well as managing and directing a category team. The chosen candidate will have experience in vendor rationalisation strategies with demonstratable experience in managing multiple categories of spend.
Ideally you will be MCIPS qualified, although we will consider candidates who have extensive experience in all the below:
- Proven experience in category management
- A track record of delivering tangible benefits within the supply chain
- Experience of leading a procurement team
- Excellent communication skills to help negotiations and ensure that expectations are clear
- Relationship building and networking skills
- Financial and accounting knowledge for calculating margins, gross profit, and discounts
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of quality control
- Procurement cost management and analysis skills
- Understanding of supply risk control
- Contract management skills
- Tender assessment skills based on financial statements or fiscal priorities
