Purchasing Manager – East Yorkshire – Attractive Package

I am looking for a procurement Manager to join a company in East Yorkshire on a permanent basis.

The manager will be responsible for souring and purchasing all goods and services throughout the organisation.

The primary focus of the role will be establishing excellent relationships with the suppliers of the goods and services ensuring the lowest possible prices.

The day to day role will involve: –

– Coordination with the commercial / sales function to ensure control of purchase cost in relation to quotations

– Coordination with each manufacturing function to ensure goods and services are supplied in accordance to a timely manner

– Liaise with key stakeholders in the business to identify, develop and carry out effective and appropriate tendering and procurement versus reactive purchasing.

– Ensure that all purchase requirements either by MRP / Manual are reviewed daily and appropriate action is taken.

– Monitor stock levels and minimise

– Ensure all purchases consider the least total cost concept when negotiated.

– To determine the most appropriate and effective group purchasing methods and processes.

– Negotiate and maintain supplier agreements and contacts that define quality, delivery, schedules, pricing and other T&C’s, e.g rebates and discounts.

– Monitor the supplier base

The candidate should have the following experience: –

– Senior buyer / procurement manager experience

– Must come from a foundry / castings background

– Must be able to buy on a project basis and be able to work to short leads times.

– It will suit someone hands on and with a reactive nature.
