Salary: £36,000 – £48,000 per year

Projects & 2nd Line Support Engineer

£36,000 – £48,000(salary has movement for the right candidate)

Nottingham

Full Time – 37.5hrs a week

Office based initially but flexibility in hybrid working

Permanent

As a Senior IT Support Specialist you will be part of the small IT team, reporting directly to the IT Manager. You will:

  • 2nd Line support/network/application support
  • Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of all data by pro-actively offering advice on security and general PC use
  • Trouble-shoot hardware and software, rectifying where possible and reporting persistent faults
  • Work with the IT Manager to support the network infrastructure and IT related projects
  • Investigation & challenging projects being the main chunk of the role
  • Assist with multi project streams of technical work alongside each other
  • Provide some support for 1st line Support and general IT task; by phone, in person or remotely where needed
  • Be working with the following Live IT Systems and Platforms: Windows Domain and Microsoft Azure, Sage, Office 365 (Microsoft 365) suite (including OneDrive/SharePoint/Teams/InTune), Windows 10/11, Linux OS(s), Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2018 (DHCP/DNS/Group Policy/DFS Management), Cisco Meraki, Ubiquity, Adobe Cloud Suite, CCTV systems

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • IT qualification would be desirable
  • Previous experience with trouble shooting Windows Networks, MSSQL databases, Azure
  • Linux experience
  • Relevant experience of working in an office or customer service environment
  • Experience of working in an IT-Support environment
  • Experience of working with networked computing systems
  • Experience of managing is installing physical networks, switches/firewalls terminating and running caballing etc
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, to work quickly and accurately, and to organise own work
  • Ability to remain calm when under pressure and handle difficult situations
  • Ability to use initiative and judgement
  • Ability to demonstrate a motivated, proactive, and helpful approach to work
  • ISO 27001 knowledge would be beneficial but not necessary
