Position Description:
The Programme Team are responsible for co-ordinating and guiding the cross-functional Product Creation teams in the delivery of JLR’s global expansion plans. Reporting to an SUV Project Manager, the project is preparing to integrate vehicle programme activities in line with strategic footprint expansions. This is a key opportunity to become involved from an early project phase shaping the scope, ensuring assumption alignment and key stakeholder engagements from a multi-functional team. This opportunity will give the individual exposure to vehicle product teams as well as non-product related teams within the Global Business Expansion organisation. The vacancy is for a Project Planner looking to make their mark on a newly established Land Rover Programme Management Team with the ability to engage at all levels of the business. Key responsibilities include leading and supporting programme team members in the planning, coordination, approval, reporting and delivery of all programme activities. You will be required to act as an integrator across multiple functions representing the programme team in managing change requests, driving & reporting the status as work proceeds. Supporting supplier and commodity sourcing, vehicle test planning and verifying requirements through to pre-production builds. Working within a project management framework enabling project team delivery to budget & time. Preparation of documents for evaluations at all levels.

Skills Required:
3 KEY SKILLS – MUST HAVE
1) Project Planning and Control skills
2) An ability to understand and manipulate complex data
3) An understanding of programme delivery principles are essential.

Experience Required:
A good working knowledge of Change Control, Product Definition and scheduling processes are desirable.
Good communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and a ‘passion for the product’ are personal qualities needed to succeed in this high-pressure environment.
Being self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
An ability to assist in the resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment and to evaluate the progress of Quality, Cost, Functional and Timing status for all engineering areas.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate experience of project or supplier management, meeting demanding timescales, budget control and cost effective delivery.
Applicants should be qualified to HND/degree level and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to lead the resolution of business, technical and process issues.
Must have a full driving licence as inter-site travel required.

Education Preferred:
Ideally suited to professionally accredited Project Manager from an Automotive background with a Major OEM or Tier 1 Supplier. Alternatively, previous experience within core Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or New Product Introduction is desirable as is a good knowledge of product development processes.
