Salary: £33.6 per hour

Project Planner
To be responsible for the delivery of the project schedule throughout the complete project lifecycle, from inception to completion, in accordance with the requisite quality standards, and with consideration to the scope, time requirements and budgetary constraints.
ELEMENT DESCRIPTION
Schedulers allocated to the project.
To develop schedules for works programmes.
To set up and maintain the project schedule
To provide data to the Project Controls Manager to support the generation of Earned Value Data
To work with the Project Manager and Project Controls Manager to establish the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB)
For reporting progress and estimates to complete, to assist the Project Manager in control of the project within the required timescales and budget.
For ensuring the schedule is produced in line with industry best practice, the company standards and the needs of the client.
For ensuring that all planned and forecast resources required to deliver the project scope are fully defined within the project schedule.
Lead workshops to ensure correct Schedule quality to manage the work scope and report progress. This may involve leading integrated planning events with the suppliers.
To derive and implement creative methods for managing project schedules and communicate this to Project Planner and Schedulers.
Raise the profile of Planning within Babcock Airports through training, workshops and reporting.
Assist the Planning and Project Controls Manager with Planning Team personal development, e.g. personal / professional development, coaching and mentoring.
KEY ACTIVITIES
Attendance at the tender launch and / or project launch (dependent upon project phase).
Leadership of project allocated Project Planners and Schedulers
Set up of the project schedule including Resource and cost and maintain throughout the project lifecycle and obtaining sign-off from the key participants.
Resourcing of the project schedule and provision of resource requirement forecasts.
Collect, monitor and report progress against the agreed Schedule.
Produce the Client Baseline Reports, Deliverables` Progress Reports and Milestone Reports
Assist the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor in identifying scope and Schedule changes and in the management of the scope change process with the client. Involvement in the development of scope change notices (e.g. NCEs, EWNs) by assessment of cost, schedule and resource implications.
ELEMENT DESCRIPTION
Update the Schedule periodically and by exception to incorporate all agreed Change (NCE`s & EWN`s)
Lead planning meetings with the client`s project team where directed by the Project Manager.
Obtain Estimates to Complete (ETCs) for Engineering, Suppliers, Management and site based activities and feed into the cost control system.
Participate in project financial reviews alongside Project Managers, Engineers, Project Accountants, Project Controls Manager and Quantity Surveyor.
Ensure that schedule files for the project are properly initiated, maintained, completed and stored in the correct file locations.
CORE COMPETENCIES
Qualifications.
A recognised qualification in an engineering or construction related discipline.
Experience.
Significant hands on experience in a project planning role.
Use of the MS Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
Detailed use and knowledge of MS Project and Primavera P6.
Experience of Programmes or Portfolios of projects in excess of £10M.
Experience of scheduling in accordance with the NEC suite of contracts.
Experience of planning of multi-disciplined projects. Experience of working in an ISO 9001 environment.
Experience of leading and developing other planning team members.

PROFICIENT COMPETENCIES
HNC in an Engineering or Construction related subject.
Experience of using Primavera P6 in an enterprise environment.
Experience of performing similar roles in airports / logistics or materials handling.

A good understanding of the airport baggage handling system process / operational requirement
