Project Manager (Home Based with Extensive International Travel)

My client serves beverage and food can makers throughout continental Europe, the British Isles, and as far south as Africa. From their offices and distribution facility in northern England, they supply genuine OEM parts, field service and complete technical support for their customers’ can and end lines. Many of my clients 45 employees have worked in can plants and intimately understand the needs and priorities of canmakers. By partnering with their customers, they provide the most timely and responsive service, including developing customized maintenance kits and 24-hour delivery of parts when needed.

Continued growth now means they require an additional project manager to join them and their existing projects team. You will report in to the director of projects and have full autonomy over the planning and execution of projects to ensure they are delivered on time and within budget. The projects are traditionally full turnkey projects so will involve dealing with anything from the construction of buildings to house new production lines to the final commissioning and handover. Experience of managing multi-disciplined teams in locations outside the UK would be a distinct advantage.

The role will require extensive travel and periods away from home, up to 6 weeks followed by 10 day`s rest at home. Flexibility, tenacity and a strong background in canning or alternative production environment are essential for this role. There is an expectation that whist working in the UK, the role can be home based with a day per week in the office which is in the North West.
