Salary: £90,000 – £102,000 per year

Development Project Manager

Reporting directly to the Development Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading new projects through the development cycle, planning and construction phases through to project completion.

This will include liaising with development partners, agents, Local Authorities, Registered Providers and other statutory bodies in order to secure new opportunities and see that they are delivered to programme, cost and quality targets.

Key functions include ensuring the Company’s development brief and profit expectations are met: managing and ensuring communication and co-ordination between Consultants and Contractors; the production and review of design information and specifications; undertaking Risk Assessments (financial and project specific), co-ordinating, reviewing and disseminating all information in regard to cost, quality, time and (any other relevant issues) to ensure overall Project delivery and viability are maintained.

Plan, prepare and produce the Design or Delivery brief for each development assigned to you.

Co-ordinate and organise the delivery of the Development ensuring all risks and responsibilities are identified, communication protocols and contact directory’s are put in place and all necessary meetings are attended, efficiently organised and held (including Chairing and taking Minutes).

Prepare, implement and review as necessary, a Development Programme for each Scheme.

Monitor progress against the Development Programme and ensure the Project Team implements any actions necessary to maintain the same.

Draft and negotiate external Consultant appointments (normally to planning) and subsequently administer the same.

Review proposed designs to ensure compatibility with the approved brief, physical constraints, and any financial or cost budgets and identify any potential implications for current or future procurement/delivery

Through the Project Team, ensure all requisite statutory consents are identified and obtained and ensure all parties are compliant with these and all other statutory regulations.

The Candidate

• Should be self-motivated, confident and able to demonstrate the ability and proven track record in land requisition and development.

• Should be commercially astute and able to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

• Experience of financial modelling, risk analysis and programme management is a must together with highly developed presentation and communication skills.

Experience
Minimum of 10 years experience in a Client residential housing and/or mixed use development environment.

• Must be able to demonstrate experience of all stages of the development process including the management of planning, procurement and delivery.

• Worked on residential schemes varying from 20 units to 500+ units.

• Awareness of the RSL and Public Sector roles in development (commercial development experience is an asset but not a requirement).
