Project Manager
We are currently working with a main contractor based in London who are seeking a Project Manager with strong general construction experience. You may have come from being a Site Agent, Construction Manager or even already been a Project Manager but you are looking for advancement and Directorship. Our client is requiring hands-on experience, seeing solutions for Site Agents steering them through projects. You will be focused on your career supporting the southern part of the UK, becoming a Director within 2 years.
Some responsibilities include:
• Planning and programme design using MS Project software
• Working closely with clients, architects, design teams and contractors
• Full responsibility of H&S on site
• Compliance and quality assurance
• Full project management and co-ordination
• Lead the site agents and steer them through a project
• Excellent communication skills are paramount and an ability to transmit ideas and
• information clearly and logically are essential
• A thorough knowledge and contact with Southern based sub-contractors would be
• expected
• General construction – Refurb’s, new build, PD, residential developments, social housing,
• HA (Housing Authority)
• Organising materials and contractors for pipe-work, brick work, drainage, curbing etc.
• Look after relevant paperwork, filing and co-ordinate with head office as required
• Work with suppliers, negotiate best delivery and price
• work effectively to tight deadlines
• expand your network of trusted suppliers
• Manage budgets for projects and communicate accordingly with management updating
• with solutions not problems
• Look at alternative materials and products to complete design concept
• Work in sequence with management, client and sub-contractors
Ideally you’ll have:
• Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS )
Construction or a civil engineering qualification as a bonus.
• Car driver
• First aid advantageous
• Timber frame desirable but not essential
• Project software experience ideal
