Salary: £60,000 – £84,000 per year

Payroll Elite have partnered with this international retail organisation who are looking to recruit an experience Project Manager for an 18-month contract working fully remote. Based within HR you will manage the company’s program of implementing payroll transformation across its EMEIA and APAC Regions

There may be the odd occasion when you may need to visit either the London or Leeds office for a face-to-face meeting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the implementation of potential new suppliers by creating and maintaining accurate, up-to-date project plans and managing third party providers and stakeholders to ensure adherence to project timelines
  • Work closely with vendor implementation PM and team to track and adhere to timelines
  • Manage project financials including estimates, budgets and forecasts
  • Create and maintain accurate Risk / Assumption / Issues / Dependencies (RAID) logs and ensure that the relevant parties are involved in addressing these
  • Manage project resource allocation, coordinating resources to meet project objectives
  • Work with the Change Lead to ensure change management plans and stakeholder engagement plans are created and maintained in conjunction with project plan timelines and milestones.
  • Provide leadership and decision-making support by establishing project governance. Chair project governance meetings as needed and ensure the participation of the relevant stakeholders in decision-making
  • Work alongside IT, Systems and data protection teams, etc. to ensure that security, interfacing and other requirements as relevant are catered for
  • Collaborate with the It Project Manager to ensure internal governance procedures are followed and completed as expected
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the projects, and ensure that internal or third-party project team members have the access to necessary tools, people, and information
  • Perform project status and performance reporting during the execution, and complete project documentation upon project closure
  • Facilitate project completion and transition to relevant BAU parties for ongoing operations
  • Close projects and conduct lessons learned sessions – capture and document the knowledge and ensure its availability to other project managers

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

  • Delivery of projects on time, within budget, within scope and to a high-quality standard
  • Stakeholder satisfaction with level of engagement with the project team
  • Positive results from health check, such as quality of project documentation, and adherence to governance controls
  • Accuracy and timeliness of project reporting
  • Adherence to internal policies, standards, and procedures

EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience in Project/Programme Management
  • Experience using MS Project to complete programme and project management activities
  • Nice to have experience using SAP, Apptio, Workfront, Ariba, Confluence or Jira
  • Prince 2 Practitioner, Managing Successful Projects (MSP), or similar
  • Self-starter, able to work comfortably without set processes, assisting to shape and improve Governance in processes
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey information succinctly and concisely
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, terminology, key success factors, and methods
  • Ability to diagnose and remedy poor project management practices
  • Strong track record of on-time, on-budget and to-specification delivery of projects
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams – empower team members to engage and perform, and direct when necessary
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and work effectively with others at all levels across the business
