Production Supervisor required for our manufacturing client at their Brierley Hill site. A vacancy has arisen for a Production Supervisor with a background in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to assist in the first line management of the Staff working in the Press Shop.
Experienced supervisor / Team leader with a background in a fast-paced production environment who’s priority is first line management of the Press Shop Floor staff and processes.
Reporting to the Press Shop Manager, you will be responsible for the supervision of a team of approximately 15 permanent staff, inclusive of the planner/coordinator, material controllers and up to 6 temporary staff that may be required throughout the year to meet customer demand. The supervisor has responsibility for ensuring the Health & Safety of the team is not compromised, production areas are set up and running correctly with appropriate materials, tools and documentation and that plans are shared with Production department for the build requirements. All employees must be correctly trained to carry out the required tasks and all HR related requirements are to be managed and addressed accordingly.
The supervisor’s role involves a close working relationship with the planning coordinator. This is to ensure that the tasks involving responding to lead-time request for Sales Order processing, raising Works Orders for metal parts to be made, monitoring progress and highlighting any orders at risk are all being managed accordingly. Other close relationships involve the quality team to ensure any quality issues are dealt with appropriately and the materials/purchasing team to ensure all components are available at the appropriate time in order to meet order requirements. The job role may include other reasonable duties/tasks to be carried out from time to time.
Skills and Experience required
- Proven record of Production Supervision
- Leadership skills to motivate and direct
- Ability to collect relevant information and make informed decisions.
- Uses available systems and software to the best to achieve tasks and targets
- Adheres to the current quality and process procedures
- Awareness of Health and safety standards
- Good level of knowledge of MS Excel
Working Hours: 7am to 3pm & 3pm to 11pm rotating weekly
Please note: In the near furure our client will be moving onto a 3 shift working basis
6am to 2pm & 2pm to 10pm & 10pm to 6am Rotating Weekly – Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours
Salary: £25k basic + 15% Allowance shifts & 25% Allowance Nights
