Our Client based in Basingstoke is looking to recruit a Production Supervisor to join their busy facility in Basingstoke. The function of the role will be to lead the production team to achieve maximum productivity and output in all assembly, test, and calibration cells without compromising health and safety, environmental, quality, cost, and delivery performance. You will ensure that daily production requirements are achieved whilst holding the production team accountable for their success.
Job Description
* Ensure the production team’s adherence to all health, safety, and environmental standards according to procedures and processes, reporting all health, safety, environmental issues, and concerns to the Operations Manager and/or the General Manager.
* Be a visible leader and role model for all production technicians, influencing and driving engagement in production initiatives.
* Ensuring all products and associated works orders are completed in accordance with the necessary SOP’s and drawings
* Undertake works order completion checks and product final checks before the finished goods are booked into stock.
* To motivate all production technicians whilst holding them accountable for quality and output requirements.
* Highlight any performance issues to the Operations Manager and/or General Manager.
* To allocate production resources to ensure production targets are achieved within quality, daily output, and productivity requirements communicating to Operations Manager when issues arise.
* To ensure all production technicians work within Company quality procedures to ensure product assembly, test and calibration are performed to exacting standards and specifications.
* Highlight any production assets that are out of calibration or do not have a valid calibration sticker to the Operations Manager
* To identify and/or implement opportunities for process, productivity, and quality improvements.
* Working with engineering, quality, engineering, and purchasing to resolve line stop issues and implement process improvements.
* Deliver a daily morning briefing to the Operations Manager on the status of production highlighting any issues with the planned weekly and monthly output.
* The duties and responsibilities in this job description are not restrictive and the post holder may be required to undertake any other duties which may be required from time to time. Any such duties should not, however, substantially change the general character of the post.
Requirements
* A proven Production Supervisor with 3yrs experience of leading and organizing small teams essential
* Experience in electro-mechanical assembly and test manufacturing techniques, lean manufacturing principles.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate a team and hold people accountable for performance
* Awareness of ISO9001:2015/ AS9100 QMS system advantageous
* Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are essential to ensure continued output
* Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft applications essential. Familiarization of Sage beneficial
* A “Can Do” attitude is essential.
