Salary: £33,600 per year
We have a new position available for one of our manufacturing Clients in the Kent area.
The Production Engineer’s responsibility is to support production in ensuring that it runs smoothly on a day to day basis. The role is diverse in that the person will be working closely with design engineers, quality and production teams to resolve technical problems and to improve manufacturing techniques. Other responsibilities include:
Input into new designs to ensure ease of manufacture and assembly.
Work with different departments and suppliers in resolving quality issues and putting in place robust corrective solutions.
Assist with shopfloor layout and cell designs.
Collate and analyse warranty information.
Design of fixtures and tooling for assembly tasks.
Generating production documentation such as assembly instructions.
Overseeing the introduction of new products into production.
Understanding of Lean tools such as kanbans, 5S and value stream mapping. Also experience in activities such as value engineering.
Introducing new process and equipment to reduce cost and save time.
To carry out any other duties that may be required from time to time.
Required Experience and Skills
Experienced Production Engineer
They will have an eye for detail and excellent problem solving skills.
Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies.
Able to demonstrate personal success in the achievement of continuous process improvement.
Computer literate fully conversant with MS Excel, Word and possibly Access.
Knowledge of problem solving techniques.
Understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
To have an understanding of root cause analysis.
