Product Manager (Technology)

THE COMPANY
One of the UK fastest growing Pro AV companies has identified an opportunity within their business for an experienced technician to join their team and help them develop and market their electronic AV products.
THE ROLE
The position would suit someone who may have worked as an installation engineer or in a technical support role in the AV Industry. You should have an interest in developing into a more rounded commercial role but must have a solid understanding mechanical and electronic AV engineering. The position will involve some international travel to attend trade shows, visit customers and our factories/locations.
You will be proactive, practical and aware of the need for satisfying customer demands. Your technical knowledge will also enable you to help them identify gaps in the market, evaluate new product opportunities and create/source solutions, often in time critical circumstances. You will also be working with their sales team to help develop and enhance customer relationships as well as working closely with their US based engineering and global marketing groups. The ideal candidate is seen as being an engineer wanting to move inside the business and help develop our technology AV solutions.
Key Tasks

– Collaborate with and support sales teams and other Product Managers to understand the customer requirements to find solutions utilising standard or existing products if possible.
– Study market and help develop sound strategic product designs and introductions in conjunction with our global HQ
– Create product plans, competitive product analysis, industry tracking, and pricing strategy for strategic and tactical use by sales teams
– Work with marketing to help create sales promotional material and marketing communications.
– Provide product training to internal staff and key partners
– Present products a trade events and shows
– Help with incoming technical product queries
– Become the “go to” expert in the industry

This is a varied role requiring a diverse range of electronic and mechanical engineering skills with a bit of marketing in the mix. The position would be suited to a self-motivated individual who is able to help create and develop profitable business solutions in a very price competitive market.
Skills Required

– High degree of electronic technical capability coupled with some mechanical ability.
– The ability to work alone and as part of multi-national cross-functional teams.
– Project managing both short and long-term projects whilst dealing with day-to-day technical queries.
– You love completing projects on time on budget that deliver customer satisfaction.

Desired experience

– Experience in a technical professional AV role like installation engineer or technical support engineer.
– Knowledge of the Pro AV Market and channels
– Strong IT skills

Qualifications

– Higher education in electronics
– Full UK driving license
