Product Manager

Dovetail Recruitment are working with a long established Bournemouth Company in recruiting for a Product Manager to join their team.

The Product Manager will be working with the Account Manager on the delivery of the agreed customer/product strategy.

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast paced environment. They will be able to multi task, know how to prioritise, learn quickly and have relevant skills.

Your role as Product Manager will include:

– Identifying and driving new product development and product upgrades
– Developing and delivering products in line with the wider team’s agreed range strategy
– Taking responsibility for critical paths
– Having the ability to form strong working relationships with key account contacts
– Engaging and collaborating with wider house team to ensure all key stakeholders are aligned in the development process. This will include liaising with technical, supply chain, design, finance and sales both in the UK and Asia
– Having the ability to write clear briefs and communicate efficiently with our production teams in the UK & Asia via phone, video conferencing and email
– Being able to work in large amounts of detail; problem solve; ability to prioritise and manage time well
– Arranging samples, costs, presentations, etc. for customer meetings
– Developing and engaging wider team on new product concepts. Scheduling workflow, approving product samples and assuring quality standards through all stages of new product development.
– Understanding the market, product trends and research, including talking to customers and visiting customer stores. Assessing competitors’ products to identify important features and comparing performance with equivalent company products
– Coordinating multiple product development projects simultaneously

The successful Product Manager applicant must:

– Have the ability to cope with multiple streams of information and prioritise
– Have good communication skills
– Be excited and passionate about working within a dynamic and fast paced environment
– Be reliable and committed
– Preferably be experienced with critical paths and development time lines (including chasing up deliverables), OR have willingness to learn
– Be able to take direction from senior management.
– Be fuelled, not frustrated, by constructive criticism from project team members.
