Salary: £144,000 – £180,000 per year
Are you a first-class Procurement & Supply Chain Director? Are you looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact on cultural change and continuous improvement in a prestigious, growing business?
Our client is a renowned and long-established British manufacturer of niche high-value/low volume products, recently acquired by a successful and profitable UK-based PE investor. Based in the East Midlands, our client supplies a global customer base that is known for choosing products based on quality of design and finished product.
Ambitious, with an order book through to 2023, they have a vision of continuing to transform their business from being a traditional manufacturer to one that embraces modern techniques and world class standards that improve quality, cost and delivery, without detracting from what makes their products and the company great. Recent financial investment into the business, combined with the advancement of the people agenda, shown by recent executive hires, is a clear indication of the desire for further growth and performance in the short and long term.
Reporting to the CEO you will be fully responsible for end-to-end supply chain, including procurement, material planning, production planning, supply chain management, warehousing and logistics. Leading the strategy and delivery, you will lead the supply chain team taking accountability for a change management journey encompassing an effective and inspiring leadership style while implementing modern supply chain methodology to drive performance.
You will lead: the migration from expediting to world class planning; best-in-class negotiation and supply chain management that will build long-term relationships with the supply base and improve commercial performance; the implementation of data-driven systems, procedures and processes.
Who we’re looking for?
You will be a talented Supply Chain & Procurement Director who has lived and breathed world class supply chain, taking what they have learnt and pragmatically applied it successfully into less mature environments changing them for the better.
* First class strategic and leadership skills (whilst still being willing to be hands-on) with a history of delivering progressive cultural change enhancing employee capability and business performance.
* Strong communication and influencing skills.
* Extensive experience working with international supply chains within high pressure, complex high value/low volume manufacturing environments such as automotive, aerospace, rail, defence, marine or yellow goods.
* Process driven and experienced in driving measurable and sustainable supply chain performance improvement through implementation of best-in-class techniques.
