Procurement Administrator – up to £23K – Permanent
Luton – Monday to Friday 0900 to 5.30 pm
Our client is a highly successful organisation who has been supplying the UK markets for over 5 decades and is passionate about what they do. Join them in this exciting role as Procurement Administrator where you may have the opportunity to travel in the UK and abroad. Importing their product from Spanish-speaking counties so would be an advantage if you could speak and write Spanish fluently. You will support the team in managing the daily procurement and quality assurance functions and activities. You may be required to stay overnight within the UK travel or work weekends/bank holidays, so you need to be flexible. There will be lifting weights in excess of £20kg, so a good level of physical fitness is required.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Procurement Administrator will have a varied workload in a fast-paced environment, so will need high levels of enthusiasm and energy.
- To support and assist the Procurement Manager in the purchasing of fruit from the Company’s suppliers.
- To liaise with suppliers on the short-term availability of a product, weekly loadings, and ensuring departure advices and loading notes are received
- To constantly review and update the forecasts
- To liaise daily with the Procurement Manager, Sales Team, Operations, and QC team in terms of volumes, quality, pack format, and any changes/ modifications in packaging requirements
- To respond as required to any correspondence from suppliers in a timely and efficient manner
- To prepare seasonal reviews and undertake any ad-hoc reporting as required
- You may be required to attend company events and exhibitions that may be outside of normal working hours and require overnight stays.
- Managing and controlling packaging stocks.
Knowledge/Experience/Skills
The Procurement Administrator should be able to work under pressure in a calm manner and have the ability to self-motivate.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with a number of projects and tasks, balancing priorities to tight deadlines.
- Accurate with attention to detail and a logical and methodical approach and a commitment to customer care.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.
- Confidence in negotiating and influencing
- Highly commercial and analytical.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Rubicon and Fips Software.
- Fluent in Spanish written and verbal.
Procurement Administrator with the Desirable Skills of:
- Excellent working knowledge of HACCP
- Food Hygiene Certificate
- Some audit skills/knowledge
