Salary: £96,000 – £108,000 per year

Principal Architect – Kafka – Spark – Big Data – £80k – £90k plus share options **FULLY REMOTE**

I am currently working with one the country’s most innovative companies that are pushing the boundaries in data analytics software to combat challenges in one of the most affluent, up and coming industries in tech. They understand how to build big data products that work seamlessly with the user and enhance analysis through machine learning and artificial intelligence. They believe that through advanced Computer Vision and Software Development techniques they can change how data is collated and processed for the high profile clients that use their products.

Their Software is being used by some the biggest names in the business, full list can be disclosed after an initial chat. They are looking for someone who will form part of a brand new senior leadership team and play a critical role in understanding and overcoming the challenges ahead, being responsible for the technical architecture across multiple departments. You will become an expert in their technology, developing a deep technical understanding of the products and services, using this knowledge and your experience to deliver high-quality solutions.

Liaising with all areas of the company including Product teams, Lead Developers, Engineering Managers, Data Scientists, and Computer Vision Engineers to define and drive software architecture. You thrive on understanding and learning new technologies and possess an ability to rapidly assess them and how they fit into your overall solution. You communicate effectively at a technical and non-technical level and are comfortable dealing with stakeholders at all levels in an organisation.

As a Principal Architect you will:

Design and architect end-to-end solutions that integrate technology into the customers’ environments.
Work closely with all teams to fully understand requirements and their impact, identifying enhancements to the products or services that will be required to support the delivery of high-quality solutions.
Design systems to address non-functional requirements such as reliability, scalability and security
Provide architectural leadership and expertise to our client engagements and lead the support the growth and development of these skills within the company
Work across multiple projects, setting architectural direction, building consensus and providing technical leadership and advisory services
Be hands on where necessary, setting an example in quality of work and efficiency of delivery
Possess excellent communication and presentation skills across a variety of audiencesRequirements

Real-world experience of architecting, designing, and delivering large data projects.
Excellent communicator, able to confidently represent the company through large periods of growth.
Hands-on technical expertise with modern programming languages and big data technologies.
Strong understanding of Big Data technologies including some of Elasticsearch, Mongo, Kafka, Hadoop, Spark
