Solution Architect (Lead)

Salary: £96,000 – £102,000 per year

Job Description:

You will be experienced in leading the development of solution architectures, working with wide architecture teams expertise to produce an overall solution architecture. A confident communicator that can liaise with internal or external parties (developers, testers, business users, InfoSec, service management, + other key stakeholders) to ensure solution design is understood and being adhered to.

What will you do?

• Manage team allocation and direction
• Manage client end state Architecture
• Liaise with Clients and run joint Architecture Board.
• Analyse business, data, application and technology requirements and translate those requirements into a solution that achieves the stated business needs
• Develop solution architectures and viewpoints that ensure Business, Data, Application and Technology viewpoints are aligned into a solution that will deliver the required capabilities to the organisation
• Analyse business drivers and identify corresponding change requirements and roadmap
• Design and lead the solution architecture based on business requirements
• Define principles to guide solution selection, design and implementation
• Lead and facilitate solution option analysis where appropriate
• Liaise with application and infrastructure development projects to ensure solutions fit within those architectures
• Define solution patterns to provide solution implementation that are reusable and repeatable
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions ensuring consensus and buy-in across all stakeholders is obtained and maintained throughout project lifecycle
• Development of solution architecture viewpoints and principles, and advocate existing viewpoints and principles throughout the business

We are looking for someone who is?

• A self-starter, able to work effectively alone and as part of a team with a strong delivery focus and able to take a pragmatic view on risks/ issues
•  A strong communicator and able to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels within the organisation
• Able to lead a team made comprised of multiple organisations, internal departments and differing levels of technical knowledge
• Experienced in working with, and design solutions across, a range of technologies and specialisms
• Experienced in designing solutions within the cloud (AWS / Azure)
• Awareness and understanding of serverless computing
• A problem solver able to assess a wide range of requirements and constraints and identify the most appropriate target solution aligned to the organisation’s enterprise architecture roadmap
• Technically minded and able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, applications and infrastructure
• Is certified in TOGAF 9, Zachman Enterprise Architect, AWS OR MCSE
• Knowledgeable of project management methodologies and best practices
