Plastic Fabricator

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Fabricator with lots of experience working with Plastic.
This could be ideal for someone with lots of experience and looking to progress into management or someone with management skills already.

To manage all aspects of the fabrication department including the staffing, planning, designing and manufacture of bespoke items to customer specifications. Ensure maintenance of machinery and compliance with Health and Safety in the workplace.
Responsibilities:
• Design fabrication solutions to meet customer requirements
• Provide advice and guidance to the sales department on feasibility, pricing and delivery of the fabricated items
• Manufacture plastic products to agreed specification and deadlines
• Maintain records of drawings and specification details of items supplied to customers
• Maintain and develop a stock of fabrication samples to provide to customers
• Propose and develop improvements in fabrication methods
• Plan and monitor jobs/workload to ensure maximum efficiencies and utilisation of personnel
• Ensure quality of products is monitored and processes in place to detect and correct quality issues before despatch to customer
• Ensure products are adequately packaged and despatched to the customers to agreed timescales.
• Ensure Health and Safety policies are adhered to and staff are aware of the rules and trained accordingly. Be proactive regarding Health and Safety.
• Ensure machinery and tools are maintained on a regular basis and ensure they are fit for purpose. Ensure comply with Health and Safety guidelines
• Ensure documentation is in place and readily accessible
• Co-ordinate with the Operations Manager regarding staff management to include planning, holiday cover, appraisals and motivation. Promote team working and communication.
• Ensure training programs are in place for staff including on the job training. Identify any training needs. Ensure training records are in place.
• Deputise for the Operations Manager in his absence.
• Undertake any other reasonable duty as requested by the company
Essential Skills:
• 5 years experience in plastic fabrication
• Extensive knowledge on CNC, Laser cutters, and Diamond polishers
• Experienced in product design
• Basic Microsoft Office Skills
• Proactive with good communication skills
• Organised with high attention to detail
• Good management and leadership skills
Desirable:
• CAD experience
• Machinery programming skills
