Production/Plant Manager – Automotive
Our client is a leading international powertrain consultancy. As part of their UK expansion and major contract wins, a vacancy has arisen for a Production Manager. A new role reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will have a number of years’ relevant experience to include the setting up of new manufacturing facilities and the subsequent management of associated activities relating to the assembly and EOL testing of automotive products, preferably in powertrain.
Key Functions of the Role:
Execution of a new manufacturing and EOL testing facility for a new automotive transmission assembly operation. Management of all the resources required in the delivery of the customer requirements and the corporate KPI’s including:
• Agreed budgets
• Quality and delivery
• Continuous improvements
• Direct production heads
• Indirect production heads
• Manufacturing engineering
Main Responsibilities:
• Management of the production facilities and resources to achieve the agreed key performance indicators, including Quality, Cost, Delivery and OEE objectives
• Ensure that all corporate H&S policies are appropriate and adhered to across the entire business
• Management of all production customers, ensuring agreed customer demands are achieved
• Execution of new products introduction taking into account quality, cost and time objectives
• Ensure manpower resources are available and suitable for the business demands
• Continuous improvement of production processes
Qualifications / Experience Required:
• Engineering Degree/Certificate of Higher Education in Engineering/equivalent experience
• Experience in the design of product assembly and testing systems
• Experienced in prototype and low/medium volume automotive powertrain assembly processes
• Experience in process and test technology
• Experience in all aspects of quality management including TS16949
• Experienced user in all aspects of the APQP delivery process
• PC literate and able to confidently use MS Office products
• Experience with SAP would be beneficial
