Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per year

PLANT HIRE DESK MANAGER

Our client is a forward thinking and entrepreneurial group who offer a range of services within Plant Hire. They offer a great working environment and there is huge scope for progression with this role. Due to growth we are looking for someone ambitious to help develop and lead the hire desk operation. This person must have superb communication skills and be extremely organised, plus able to use their own initiative to implement processes to support the business as it grows. A background in Plant Hire, commercial vehicle hire or experience of managing the process from client side is essential.

Main Duties

* Proactively developing processes to help grow and improve the Hire desk business

* Handling all hire enquiries via email and telephone

* Managing machinery stock availability levels and ensuring the systems are up to date

* Liaising with transport and engineering to ensure smooth coordination

* Building effective relationships with clients to ensure business is retained and grown

* Meeting clients at site on occasion

* Building a team, all aspects of recruitment, training and management

Main Skills and Experience:

* Previous management experience ideally within a Hire Desk environment such as Plant, Tools, Powered access or commercial vehicles.

* Demonstrated ability to lead process changes.

* Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills

* Proven commercial acumen

* High level of integrity and trust

* Capable of developing strong relationships internally and externally

* Track record of delivering high levels of customer service to internal and external customers.

* Flexibility in all areas of the role

* An ability to help grow a team

* Microsoft office including Excel, Outlook etc
